Our Jump Start Program

Are you interested in a career in the electronics industry in Nevada but lack the technical training to land even an entry-level job?

How would you like to get the education you need from a reputable, accredited program for a very reasonable investment? Would you like to supplement your classroom learning with hands-on experience?

Thanks to JT4, LLC and the College of Southern Nevada (CSN), you can get the training you need to begin your new career. With a specialized Associate of Applied Science degree, you'll be ready to go straight to work for us as an Electronics Technician I.*

  • About the Degree

    Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS) Engineering Technology – Electronics – Defense Contractor Technician from the College of Southern Nevada.

    This degree program includes the study of:
        • Analog and digital circuit design, implementation, and testing
        • Fabrication techniques
        • Fiber optics and telecommunications
        • Microprocessor programming and interface

    The program includes specialized electives to tailor your skills to obtain a position as an Electronics Technician. Along the way, you’ll gain practical skills and knowledge that may take you straight from CSN’s hands-on, state-of-the-art classrooms to an exciting career with JT4.

    CSN determines all elements of the academic program, including application processes, admission, and enrollment criteria. You may be able to transfer courses from another school or test out of some of the courses. Check with the Applied Technology Department by visiting csn.edu or by calling 702-651-4508.

  • About the Jump Start Program

    Once you complete the six required courses, you can apply with JT4 for a position as an Electronics Technician.** If you are hired, you must continue and complete the degree program for advancement to higher-level technician positions within the company.

    If you are hired, JT4 may:
        • Offer a sign-on bonus to cover out-of-pocket tuition costs.
        • Pay for the rest of your classes through JT4's Employee Education Training and Assistance Program (EETAP).
        • Allow you to attend up to 15 hours of classes each week while you're on the job.

  • Here's How to Get Your Jump Start

    1. Make sure you are eligible to work at JT4. The requirements include:
        • Being a U.S. citizen, and being able to qualify and maintain a DoD security clearance
        • Passing a drug screening
        • Possessing a valid driver’s license
        • Being willing to work in remote locations in Nevada

    2. Contact JT4’s Jump Start Program Office (702-382-9051, ext. 51142, or jumpstart@jt4llc.com) to sign up.

    3. Apply for CSN’s Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS) Engineering Technology – Electronics – Defense Contractor Technician from the College of Southern Nevada.

    4. Enroll in and complete the following courses* with a 3.0 GPA or higher:
        • ET 111B: Advanced Mathematics for Electronics
        • ET 131B: DC for Electronics with lab
        • ET 132B: AC for Electronics with lab
        • ET 212B: Digital Logic I
        • ET 220B: Solid State Devices and Circuits I
        • ET 228B: Data Acquisition

    5. Following the completion of the classes listed above, please contact the Jump Start Program Office at (702) 382-9051, ext. 51142, or jumpstart@jt4llc.com. Please ensure that you have your grades and a copy of your unofficial transcript. You will be given the requisition number in which to apply. Please note that participation in the program does not guarantee employment with JT4.

    6. If hired, complete the degree and program requirements.

    *Course waivers are obtained and approved by the CSN Applied Technology Department.
